About Massage Chris
Meet the Team
Chris Briggs - Founder
I started working as a masseur in 1987. I have worked in Formula 1 across the globe and toured with great bands like Faithless, Feeder and The Spice Girls.
Mostly, my job is shifting pain and anxiety. I do the massage through your clothes while you are seated on a massage chair. I also provide workshops, panel and keynote speaking at events and exhibitions, video courses and now retreats.
In my spare time I annoy my wife (!), cook and eat cakes, go for long walks, watch Formula 1, DJ and dance (badly!).
Debi Hall - Consultant Therapist
Debi Hall, founder of The Wellness Room, is a hypnotherapist and mental health coach, helping with a variety of issues including: anxiety, public speaking confidence, stress, weight loss, habits/phobias and pain control.
Debi’s background is in performance. She worked as a professional singer for over 10 years before training as a therapist and starting The Wellness Room, offering experience and empathy to her clients.
She also offers meditation classes, weight loss courses and group sessions for public speaking.
Rhianne Pallister - Senior Therapist
I trained In massage in the summer of 2022, qualifying in Swedish , Indian Head and Hot stone. I offer mobile appointments, offering Swedish full body massage, back, neck & shoulder and Indian Head.
I do my mobile work around looking after my 2 young children , aged 4 and 2.
I am passionate about massage and the benefits it has on the body and mind.
After caring for my dad when he was diagnosed with cancer; he was given 6 months but actually passed away in under 4 weeks. During that time, my best friend who is a beauty therapist visited him in hospital and gave him a hand massage. Seeing the instant calm wash over him by her delicate touch was something I will never forget and am eternally grateful to my friend for relieving him from pain and stress even if for just 30 minutes.
It’s something that I could never pay her back for and so I decided I needed to pay it forward. I, too, want to offer that little slice of peace and calm to people in their everyday lives. Everyone is fighting battles whether physically or mentally and I feel strongly about helping them in any way I can.
Shona Hirons - Resilience Coach and Wellbeing Trainer
Sarah Hook - Administrator
Hi there. I’m Sarah and I am the one who helps keep the administrative plates spinning at our fantastic company.
I am responsible for keeping things running smoothly and occasionally reining in the wilder flights of fancy that ambush Chris and restrain him from the endless tea and cakes that he likes to distribute.
I’m married with two teenage children, a wonderful rescue dog from Bosnia and a seldom-seen cat. I like cooking and crafting but I mostly love long lie-ins followed by long dog walks and a nice pub for lunch.
Frequently Asked Questions at MassageChris
As part of our new FAQ page, we want you to have everything you need to make a decision about using our services. We will be adding articles and blogs all year about our local and national industry professionals and some guides about how to avoid any miss-steps. We hope you enjoy our transparency. Please let us know what we have missed or guides you would like us to add.
Well anything really! We want you to be comfortable and cosy at all times. Massage cools your body down by throwing blood to your skin. As all our treatments are conducted through or on top of your clothes this should be easy to achieve.
We want to maximise the massaging time you have with us and want you to feel safe and in control. If you need the loo during our session, we just stop and can continue immediately after, no drama.
If you are looking for a table massage with hot towels and oils, your therapist may be able to arrange for you to have these services privately or we can make some wonderful suggestions of therapists you can visit.
In our post lockdown world, we took the decision to stop offering this service.
We may change this decision in the future, but with social distancing and the difficulties of maintaining good cleanliness with multiple clients over a long day, whilst retaining good Covid safety, we decided to stop. We won’t compromise our standards.
If you are having a personal chair massage from me, I average about 70 minutes work during your treatment. I aim to get to the root of your pain, often this involves working through several different muscle groups.
I don’t need you to be holding your breath because the pressure is too intense, so I would rather take my time so you can enjoy your massage and relax into a deeper state. This way I can make more progress towards keeping you pain free longer term.
I like to be flexible, so if you have a time limit, please let me know at the start of your massage and I will ensure to finish on time so you can continue your busy day.
If you are having a massage in your company or via your business, we currently offer 30, 40 and 60 minute sessions. You need time to relax, there are lots of other massage businesses offering 12,15 or 20 minute sessions, this is not sufficient time to support the person having the treatment in any real way, we don’t recommend these shorter options, at best it’s a tiny band aid covering a gaping wound!
I have a longer personal treatment which averages about 2 hours, if you have the time for me to give you a transformative treatment. With this longer time I can address everything that comes up and make progress more quickly.
I appreciate that this is not suitable for all my clients, so I have separated it for those people who have more discomfort and more time to address it.
I hate to leave my clients with pain, this treatment can be a revelation for many of my clients.
All our therapists are covered under a Federation of Holistic Therapists £6,000,000 policy. This is the professional body we belong to.
They require that all our therapists are qualified and have the right certificates, additionally they want to see ongoing development from all of their members, so we are becoming more capable year on year.
The therapists we use all have at least 6 years experience, this gives them better intuition and generally more qualifications.
We understand that life can be fraught! We don’t want to charge you for a cancellation, if you give us more than 24 hours notice we won’t charge you, if you give us less than 4 hours notice, we probably will, as we can’t replace that session in time.
If you cancel whilst our therapist is coming to you we will also charge you £15 for time and fuel. Between these times it is at the discretion of our managers.
Frequency of the treatments depends on your budget, availability and time.
We generally recommend a treatment every month, so we can maintain you, manage existing pain and help with your good mental health. However, if you wish to rid yourself of pain, especially longer term conditions, injuries or overwhelm, we would suggest every 2-3 weeks.
We aim to speed up your recovery and give you better mental and physical agility, so you can blink, breathe and feel fabulous.
If you are new to our business, you may want to meet Chris or talk to us about the services you require before booking your massage. We use Calendly, for remote appointments on Zoom or Teams, or a live conversation in person.
Once you are happy, you can call Chris for an appointment on 0117 259 1447. We will arrive at your workplace or home or you can come to our Massage Cabin in Clevedon. Or email us chris@massagechris.co.uk
If I come to you I will be on time. In exceptional circumstances that I’m delayed I will keep you informed.
I will set up the chair, this takes about 30 seconds. I don’t need lots of space, enough room to move around a regular chair is sufficient. I may bring a small saddle chair to sit on too.
I will have a chat with you to see what you need on the day, this will be a little longer if it is your first visit. We try to minimise the data on you that we keep, so we don’t use a form.
I will make sure you are sitting comfortably on the chair. You sit forwards like sitting on a horse, it supports your back, neck, head, arms, bottom and legs.
I will massage you through your clothes and check on the pressure I’m using periodically to make sure you are relaxed and happy. Every now and then I will ask you to take a deep breath in and I’ll perform a gentle stretch as you breathe out.
Massage is by its nature a hands-on treatment. There will be occasions when I need to touch your arm, leg or body in order to add additional pressure, or as a pivot point in a movement. If at any time you are uncomfortable with my hand placement, please let me know at the time of the treatment.
Please let me know if you are experiencing pain or discomfort so we can either lighten the pressure or change position so you get the help you want, the way you prefer. At the end of the treatment, I will give you time to recover.
I will give you some ideas and self massage moves to use between appointments. I will ask you to drink a glass of water. We will book a further massage if you would like one. You can pay via PayPal, in cash or into my bank account.
If you come to us in Clevedon, you can expect a cuppa (tea or coffee) and water as well. During the cold winter or spring we might have the fire on to keep you more cozy.

At Christmas we were happy to provide free workshops for frontline and keyworker and charity services in the area as a thank you for their contribution to local wellness.
We also support a Community Interest Concern (CIC) in Yatton called We Are Aware, and a charity which supports homeless people in Bristol, with massages and workshops.
Additionally, we are able to provide reduced rates for Not-For-Profit organisations. Please contact us for more information. So far, we have worked with Trussell Trust, Babbasa, and B.R.A.C.E (dementia care).
